Last week’s post, “Turtle Wins The Race (An Impossibly Italian Life)” touched on a couple of Italy’s most iconic musical figures in Mina and Ennio Morricone, as well as a song the two of them created together: the classic “Se Telefonando”. To me, it’s a record that perfectly captures Italy in the Sixties, as the country rose out of the post-war ashes to become the land of la dolce vita.
Because it’s spring…because it’s the weekend… and because I’m so grateful to all of you for your support of “Life Lived Italian”, I’m sharing a playlist to kick off spritzing season. The set includes songs from Mina and Morricone, as well as plenty of other classics from the Fifties, Sixties and even a few more contemporary cuts.
Grab the Aperol, Campari, Cocchi Rosa , or St- Germain (my new favorite) and imagine you’re at the Piazza del Duomo in Milan or Via del Babuino in Rome.
Chin chin…
That's fantastic. Thanks so much for the kind comments. Hope you've had a great summer. We were in Italy in July but managed to miss the worst of the heat wave-- heading back on the 17th. A crazy summer there, and everywhere. New York actually has been one of the better spots I think....
I'm listening to your Spritz Season Spotify Playlist, my friend. Hope you are enjoying La Dolce Far Niente....
