I did actually make it there-- and you're right, it's beautiful. That upper level over the altar is quite spectacular. Thanks so much for the tip!

Oh he would love it! Didn't mention it in the article, but there are 2 Ferrari Museums-- the Enzo Ferrari Museum (dedicated to the founder) which I wrote about here, and the Ferrari Museum, which is nearby and much bigger. They're both great-- and both have a simulated driving experience for kids to try. At the Ferrari Museum, you can also test drive a Ferrari-- though it might be a bit early for Liam. The other spot that I'm hoping to write about in the future is the Umberto Panini (of Maserati) Museum, which is also really fun. Modena is a pretty fascinating place-- not stunningly beautiful, but interesting and full of energy.

If you haven’t seen it, the Modena duomo is exquisite and well worth a visit.

This is great! I’ve always wanted to visit Modena, and take Liam to the Ferrari Museum! Something tells me it would be right up his alley!

Ciao, Eric! I enjoyed this mightily, although what I know about cars is approximately *niente.* But I forwarded this along to a dear friend of mine, Parker Hall, who is one of the top judges at Ferrari shows worldwide. He also had a business, Kilimanjaro Designs, that dealt in parts for Ferrari restoration (he sold the company in ‘19). If you Google “Parker Hall Ferrari” you can learn more about him. Be sure to add the car name after his (without it, you will get only articles about his father, who was a fairly famous football player.) I tell you all this because you may well get a fan mail from him about your piece, but knowing modest Parker, he would tell you nothing of his extensive expertise in this area.

I hope you and C are *bene* and looking forward to a *buon Natale.* For my gift to myself, I came over to Paris and Strasbourg for a couple of weeks, with a little side jaunt to London to visit a dear pal. Today is my last day, alas, then back to MS to start decking the halls and making figgy pudding, or something!

Thanks for a very enjoyable read, as ever!

Thanks so much for sharing this-- Parker's business looks fascinating. I honestly don't know much about cars either (I'm a NYer after all) but both my dad and my uncle had antique cars that they restored, so I'm kind of intrigued by the industry that exists around these classic automobiles. Judging from some of the things that pop up on Google, it sounds like Parker was a major player in that Ferrari world.

Sounds like a great trip to Paris, Strasbourg and London-- you've covered a lot of ground in Europe this year! Best wishes for a wonderful holiday and abbracci from Cheryl and I!

KILLER ! At least to me because you had me by the throat starting out with how you asked your dad, Ed, those incredible, fun questions. Rest of the article or dialogue, or whatever you call the stuff that you write, which is so incredible is…… Just like being there. And feeling there, and it really tells who you are and your take on things, visually, spiritually, and familial.!

You nailed it once again. I think you need your own TV channel where you wanna go, go with Eric!

When you can write something about anything, and you can engage the readers emotions, intrigue, imagination, you’ve got a winner. If I didn’t know you from a hole in the wall and I found a place or someone told me about you and I read what you have written. I was still completely engaged and interested. Well done.

Thanks so much-- so appreciate your huge support of my writing! Have to say, I thought of my dad so often on this past trip when visiting the car museums-- I'm really sorry we never had a chance to do that together. He would have loved it. Lots of memories though of he and Sharon at the car shows in Carmel, etc.

Thanks again for the kind words-- talk soon!

Eric
