Thanks so much— Bacaro is definitely a classic if you get to Asolo, which is a lovely town. To be honest, the pre-historic collection at the museo lost its novelty pretty quick (you see one flint and you’re good to go) but the Roman collection is impressive. Really appreciate the kind comment!
Delightful on so many levels...the hint of humor is brilliant and how you weave history into your life today is so entertaining! Some one has done a lot of homework! Thanks always and keep up the good work, Eric!
Considering how much of the ancient treasures were plundered after the fall of the Roman Empire, with marble and other materials being "recycled" in churches during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, it's kind of amazing how much survived. I suppose you can't blame them for being protective of what's left...
Absolutely. I always get annoyed when I see the endless articles about how the Italians are not properly caring for their antiquities. It’s obviously true, but never takes into account the sheer volume of it. It’s a pretty daunting task. Amazing too how more amazing finds keep turning up!

Thanks so much! Yes- I know you appreciate the vintage osteria, and this one is a classic. Beautiful town as well…
I enjoyed this one so much and now I have to go to your Osteria. And I did laugh so much with your Magic Markers from the Stone Age haha.
